Escape From Castle Matsumoto
Two shinobis race against each other to recover stolen items and escape a Japanese castle, using their wits and tricks to outsmart the opponent. Retro split-screen duel arcade game using pixel art in 3D.
Story
Medieval Japan. An evil daimyo lord has stolen the treasures of Imperial family and hidden them in his castle in an attempt to seize power. As a young Shinobi apprentice, you have decided to sneak into the castle, recover the treasures and return them to their rightful owners to bring prominence to your clan. However, a member of a competing clan has also discovered daimyo's scheme and is on the same mission as you. Do whatever it takes to be the first to recover stolen items and bring honour to your clan.
Gameplay
You control one of the two shinobis competing to recover the treasures and escape the castle.
You will need to:
- thoroughly search the castle to locate and collect all items
- hinder your opponent's efforts by setting up tricks and obstacles
- if necessary, challenge your opponent in a direct fight
Use all of your shinobi training to accomplish the mission:
- ninja's tools: locks and smoke bombs
- powerful spirits you can summon to guard items and passages
- defensive countermeasures to break tricks set up by your opponent
- martial arts if a direct confrontation becomes inevitable
Play against the CPU or another player, over split-screen or network.

Absolutely love this and it's look. It'll probably take me a while before I'll be able to beat the cpu though lol
Thanks so much... and good luck!
Fantastic effort - looks amazing, very evocative. I look forward to giving this a proper go when I've got some more time! Congrats on the release!!!
