ShaderGlass 1.1 released!


New major release. Changes since v1.0:

  • ability to import .slangp/.slang shaders on the fly
  • shader library refresh: added koko-aio and retro-crisis
  • ability to tag personal favorites
  • new frame timing mechanism for smoother capture
  • option to save window position
  • ability to crop input window (Input -> Window -> Crop)
  • 100% FPS now default (+option to remember)
  • vertical orientation option (vertical scanlines, i.e. arcade cabinet style)
  • option to save defaults
  • option to lock scale changes
  • advanced menu with DXGI settings
  • minor menu rearrangement

Love to see more updates. However, I've been having issues with FPS, has anyone else had this? I have a 144hz monitor, and on older versions (pre-1.0) I was able to run at 144 fps, but now even with FPS set to 100% I am only getting 64 fps. This is unfortunately pretty noticeable, is there a way to fix this?

Great seeing this get so many updates!!!

I don't know if this is possible or inside the scope of the project, but it would be great to have a way of having super resolutions work for use in actual CRTs. Right now the only way to use non-retroarch or MAME games in 240p on CRTs with a newer Nvidia card is through Retroarch with the WindowCast core which is really convuluted and glitchy.

Thanks! I'm not really familiar with this scenario nor have access to a CRT so not sure what exactly it would take for ShaderGlass to be able to help here, but I wouldn't rule anything out. If you'd like to open a Feature Request on GitHub ideally with some info, that might get more attention.

Dope update. Any plans to import from sites like shadertoy and glslsandbox for example?

Thanks! I was kinda thinking about having a mini-editor window, where you could also paste in from ShaderToy, but pretty early stages.
